Teenage Stress – Do You Understand It?

Yesterday an email was sent to us by one of our readers asking why we gave up on our daily posts. Our reader was very upset as most of our posts here inspired our reader. We are feeling very bad about this as we certainly don’t want anyone to think of us as giving up on them.

Here is something we want to share with you today so here goes:

In our household we have three children in our household – one teenage girl, one teenage boy and one pre-teen boy.

The teenage syndrome has affected our household in many ways. Some of you may be able to relate to this, we are now at a time in our lives where we as adults, with experience, are completely stupid. Just ask our children as they know everything and we know nothing. :)

As a result of this syndrome and teenage stress, our adult short comings cause us to have the “odd” :) argument which can periodically lead to a more in depth discussion.  As with any internal family stress we find our adult body’s getting over whelmed which can leave us emotionally and physically drained.

Did You Know Flute Music Interferes With Your Life?

How many times everyday do you hear people complaining about the weather, the recession, the traffic, having to go to work, their spouse and/or children?

Some people complain so much they start to believe they are never the problem. It is everyone else around them who create the challenges in their lives. If you don’t believe this just ask them.

This past weekend I met a couple who had a great story to tell, which included flute music. In fact meeting them when I did was perfect timing, as my daughter was going
through similar turmoil and their story really helped her.

The couple we met, were in their mid 60′s and somehow we were involved in a conversation which took us to a time when they had busy jobs, five children to raise, and many daily challenges – the time would have been when they were in their mid 40′s.

From this point forward you can refer to the couple as Mr K. and Mrs K.

Mr K is a music professor at one of the local universities and Mrs K is a retired Registered Nurse, 38 years of working as an RN.

When they were in their mid 40′s they had a lot of daily challenges and both started to fall into the trap of blaming all of their turmoil on other circumstances, never their fault – the world was out to get them.

They had two teenage boys who knew everything and were always upset at the parents for their attitudes. In their early teens the boys experimented with drugs and alcohol, one even ran into trouble with the local authorities.
