Here is a tip that many of you may not even have thought of, I didn't even think of this one. I love affirmations however I never thought of them as stress management techniques. Apparently the more you take part in the use of affirmations you benefit in the following ways:

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Positive Mood
  • Helps to relax your body
  • Makes you feel good about your future

These are just some of the benefits so why not take a few minutes and check out the following affirmation music video and see what you think of it and how it may be able to help you have a better day, week, month or more. What stress management techniques are the best for coping?

If you want to feel more in control of your life you need to take steps in managing your stress. In order to manage you need to use stress management techniques that work but the thing is, there are so many tools out there how do you know which ones are best suited for your situation.

I personally have had positive results using healing music. A few days back I found myself in a very intense and stressful situation….I have tried deep breathing exercises, physical exercise and the use of healing music. For the best results I have used a combination of exercise with music. Here are some ideas you can use: 

  • With music, try positive self-talk….turning negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Instead of thinking "I can't do this" turn it around to say "I'll do the best I can."
  • With music, take some time to yourself each day (15 – 20 minutes); sit quietly in a safe environment; relax; breathe deeply and think of a peaceful place where you feel at peace.
  • While listening to music, go for a walk in a mother nature setting (a park, a beach, a lake etc) and take in the natural sounds such as birds singing. Play your music at a level you can still take in the sounds in your environment.

Take a minimum of 15 minutes each day and try at least one technique that you enjoy. As you do this you will find the stress management techniques that best suit your situation and give you the peace of mind you desire.
