Healing Music

The journey to wellness and vitality can be a challenging one, and sometimes poses the question of why illness or health challenges occur in your life.
There are many factors which create illness or challenging personal situations and even relationship difficulties. In order to overcome these challenges there are times when it is necessary to be helped by traditional medicine. Sometimes these challenges can be overcome by your own efforts, while other situations need to be identified with the help of a skilled health professional specializing in life balancing, holistic therapies. In recent years Healing Music has been introduced as an effective tool in the healing process and can have phenomenal effects when used properly.

Some of you reading this may not be overly concerned about why things are not going well in your life and just want to get to the root of the challenge, so you can get on with your life. However for some of you it may be very important to discover the underlying reasons and address any changes which are needed to prevent a re-occurrence and allow yourself to move forward in your daily life, in a more sustainable and positive way.

How does Healing Music play a part in this whole process?

First lets take a look at the benefits from listening to this type of music:

- Reduce Stress
- Increase Focus
- Reduce Blood Pressure
- Improve Concentration
- Improve Sleep Patterns
- Aids in reduction of Depression
- Improves Productivity
- Reduces Stress Hormones therefore strengthens the bodies healing process
- Has been proven to calm Alzheimer patients (not just this type of music but one of the many)
- Create more meaning in your life
- Bring your mind and body into balance

There have been studies which back up these benefits do exist, not just through the use of healing music but through the use of many types of music. In order for you to experience benefits there has to be an interest in the music you listen to. The music may be classical, ambient, new age music, maybe old time rock n roll, some people love to relax to country music as long as there is not alot of negative lyrics.

Keep in mind we may “listen” to music at a conscious level but your subconscious takes more in than you are aware. The point here is, if you are listening to songs you love, the lyrics of the song may be quite negative and destructive therefore the subconscious is taking this in at a higher level. At some point in time an experience you go through may trigger negative emotions based on what is in your subconscious memory. Feed your mind positive, healthy information for long-term health. One of the tools to be used to compliment this goal is healing music.

In part 2 we will be discussing the part healing music plays in helping to reduce your overall reliance on medications. See you in the next part!
