A few days back I wrote a blog post on how healing music can help with anger management. Some of my readers totally related while there were a few (one to be exact) who wasn’t convinced either way. Everyone needs to form their own opinion based on their knowledge and life experiences and that is what motivated me to share this story with you today:
A few years back one of my friends lost everything they owned as a result of a house fire. After the shock of the fire they became very agitated and snapped at their family over the simplest things. He couldn’t sleep and was angry all the time.
Yesterday I happen to run into this guy and we did some catching up and through our conversation I brought him up to speed on what I had been doing with healing music. After hearing of my passion to share with the world he commented on the fire he and his family had gone through years back.
He told me of the challenges he had to face as a result of this fire, and just as I mentioned in the preceding sentence, he spoke of the anger he had after the fire. After the fire he realized he was close to losing control of his emotions and on a few occasions was scared as to what he may escalate to. In fact one night he almost had a physical altercation with a police officer over a simple misunderstanding on his part, so he decided to see a professional therapist. During the initial visit the therapist was playing healing music in her office.
As they talked he felt his body falling into a relaxed state and for the first time in months he was able to clearly focus on the conversation. After leaving her office he started to feel stressed again so he contacted her the next day and asked her what music she had been playing during their meeting. She advised him where he could purchase the CD which he immediately did.
Two months passed and not one day went by that he didn’t listen to the CD. During the third week of listening to the music he realized even when he wasn’t listening to the music, his anger was gone, he identified what was creating his anger (guilt and fear) and he was now sleeping through the night getting a full nights rest. The healing music helped to heal his mind and body from the stress of the fire which almost claimed his mothers life. Don’t wait for a tragedy to strike before you listen to healing music, enjoy the benefits it can provide you with in your everyday life – refocus your energy and live a life of abundance.
